Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialized massage technique designed to stimulate the lymphatic system and promote the natural drainage of lymph fluid from the body’s tissues. The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in maintaining the body’s fluid balance, filtering toxins, and supporting the immune system.

The lymphatic system consists of lymph vessels, lymph nodes, and lymphatic organs. Lymph fluid, which contains waste products, cellular debris, and pathogens, circulates through this system. However, unlike the circulatory system with a pump (the heart), the lymphatic system relies on muscle contractions and movements, and breathwork for lymph fluid circulation.

Tinna Burkhart is trained in Vodder technique. This is performed using gentle, rhythmic, and repetitive movements using her hands to manually guide the lymph fluid to the lymph nodes, encouraging lymphatic flow.
